The unique boutique hotel chain, Malmaison, required a technology solution for its Leeds venue that would create a lasting first impression as guests enter its glass-fronted atrium. The structure of Malmaison’s atrium made the install of traditional LFD screens difficult, as the stairs leading into the hotel are surrounded by long, thin walls.
Integrator, Airwave Europe installed the LG 86” 86BH5C UltraStretch display for its unique 58:9 ratio that can be displayed in both landscape and portrait formation; enabling Airwave to use three displays to “frame” the entrance of the hotel. Showcasing content in ultra high definition, Malmaison can run four different sets of content at once on the 86BH5C, operated via a Datapath FX4/H video wall controller and a Onelan CMS.

“Malmaison Leeds boasts an impressive glass-fronted atrium; a display installed in the atrium would be seen from quite a distance by arriving guests and passing members of the public ensuring that the lasting first impression remit well and truly delivered.”
